INTRA™ INVESTRAC
Incident and Accident Investigation
Recording the incident, preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses, root cause analysis and reporting to the standard section 24 requires. Built around reconstruction exercises and case studies.
An investigation that finds the person rather than the cause changes nothing. This programme teaches a structured method: secure the scene, gather what happened, work back to the root cause, and write it up so the findings survive scrutiny.
Why this programme matters
Section 24 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act requires certain incidents to be reported, and the investigation that follows is where a company either learns something or does not.
Weak investigations share a pattern. They stop at the person nearest the incident and call that the cause. They gather statements days later, once everyone has compared versions. They produce a corrective action with no owner and no date. The result is a file that satisfies nobody and prevents nothing, and that reads badly if it is ever produced in an inquiry.
A structured method fixes most of that: secure the scene, capture evidence while it still exists, interview properly, work back through the causal chain rather than stopping at the first plausible answer, and write it up on a standard template. The programme uses reconstruction exercises and case studies so the method is practised rather than just described.

How it is delivered
This is a self-paced online programme. Learners work through it at a time and place that suits them, on any device, so it does not take a shift off the roster. It carries the knowledge and awareness component only. Anything requiring practical demonstration is done face to face.
The programme is INTRA™ legal compliance material covering the OHS Act and its regulations. It is non-credit bearing, which means it is not a unit standard or a qualification. It is included in the INTRA™ PRIME licence.
INVESTRAC questions
Safety officers, and the supervisors likely to be first on the scene. Training only a central safety function is why evidence is so often lost in the first hour.
Yes. Legal compliance under the OHS Act, including what has to be reported and recorded, is part of the programme.
Indirectly. A properly documented investigation with preserved evidence and a clear timeline makes any claim or inquiry easier to deal with. The claim process itself is separate.
No. INTRA legal compliance programmes are non-credit bearing.
